“Whoever said laughter is the best medicine has clearly never tasted scotch.”

– Anne Taintor

Ancnoc

anCnoc is a rather curious whisky. You see, this fine single malt is created using traditional production methods. It’s just that we use them to make a refreshingly modern whisky (something that’s reflected in our contemporary bottle design and packaging today).

The end result is a lighter-tasting single malt that doesn’t compromise on quality.

12   The anCnoc 12 year old is renowned the world over. Known as a must-have in any whisky drinker’s collection, it’s light and yet complex. Smooth yet challenging. And each https://www.buyambienmed.com/ambien-comparison/ twist and turn delivers a surprise. In fact, this is a dram that has something for everyone.
Colour: Gentle amber with a slight yellow hue.
Nose: Soft, very aromatic with a hint of honey and lemon in the foreground.
Taste: Sweet to start with an appetising fruitiness and a long smooth finish. Light yet complex, smooth yet challenging. This is a dram that has something for everyone. Alc vol 40/43%

22    Matured predominately in American oak, ex-bourbon casks as well as Spanish oak, ex-sherry butts, anCnoc 22 Years Old displays complexity and a wealth of character but its long lasting rich, smoky finish sets this dram apart from the younger offerings.

Colour
Bright gold with a copper tint.

Nose
Sweet and spicy with notes of honey and toffee. Warm Christmas cake is accentuated by the freshness of lemons, green apples and cut flowers. All wrapped in a delicate whiff of wood smoke.

Taste
Full bodied and complex. Distinct crushed clove, raisin and blood orange flavours are at the front, closely followed by layers of fragrant vanilla and leather. The long, rich finish is smoky and spicy.

Arran Whisky

“The making of single malt whisky is a sort of alchemy, the making of truly great single malt whisky is a form of magic”.

There are very few ingredients in our single malt whisky; water and malted barley. What makes them special is simply the quality of the water in Arran, the quality of the barley we select and lastly the skill of the Arran distillers to combine the two. This skill shouldn’t be underestimated. Selecting the right cask, knowing when that cask should be opened or left to mature for a little longer or adding a specific cask finish to enhance the flavour are gifts it takes generations to perfect.

Our single malts are our signatures; they are the unique taste of Arran. We hope you enjoy discovering them as much as we enjoyed creating them.

10  The classic expression of Arran – our fresh and unique island style is captured beautifully in our 10 Year Old Single Malt. First released in 2006, this is the flagship Single Malt of our distillery and one that we were very proud to launch to great acclaim. It is without doubt a ‘must have’ in the collection of all Single Malt Whisky enthusiasts.

Colour: Ripe Golden Barley

Nose:The initial rush of rich vanilla sweetness gives way to the fruits of slow distillation – kiwi, banana, cantaloupe melon – with just a dusting of cocoa powder. It is undoubtedly complex and yet the aromas are in complete harmony with the malt.

Palate: A touch of cinnamon adds a spicy edge to the soft and sweet texture which captivates the palate. The classic Arran citrus notes have rounded with age and reveal new depths of character against a background of sweet oak.

Finish: It drifts over the tongue like golden syrup and fades ever so slowly to tempt another sip. This is a beautifully made whisky.

18  This Limited Edition release of The Arran Malt at 18 Years Old has been produced from un-peated malted barley and matured in a selection of the finest ex-Sherry casks. The whisky has not been artificially coloured and has not been chill-filtered at bottling thus retaining the full range of aromas and flavours which typify this unique Island Single Malt. It has been bottled at 46% abv. Only 9,000 bottles of The Arran Malt 18 Years Old have been released worldwide. This is the final bottling in a trilogy of 16, 17 & 18 year-old Arran Malts which celebrated the countdown to this first official release of The Arran Malt as an 18 year-old.

Colour: Golden Syrup

Nose: Rich, lush honey with hints of ginger and dark chocolate

Palate: Glides over the tongue in a glorious wave of sweetness and spice. Creme brulee at first followed by bitter orange and charred oak

Finish: Long and lingering – Arran is showing its decadent side at sweet sixteen

The Robert Burns  This is an official Arran Single Malt which has been endorsed by The World Robert Burns Federation. Made from approx 70% Bourbon Casks and 30% Sherry Casks, this light aromatic Single Malt is ideal for drinking, prior to or during a meal. Very fresh with no artificial colouring, this beautifully packaged malt is made for easy drinking.

Colour: Ayrshire Sunshine

Aroma: Sweet & creamy with notes of honey, toffee-glazed pecans and fresh summer fruits

Palate: A perfect combination of rich malt and lush vanilla notes forms a beautifully refreshing and smooth palate. Light and sweet at first followed by tantalising spice and oak

Finish: Clean and fresh with an aftertaste of hazelnuts and milk chocolate. A true drop of liquid poetry and the perfect dram with which to toast the Bard!

The Lost Blend  In 2001, we created our first single malt blend which we called Eleuthera. It was an elegant and simple blend of approximately 80% unpeated Highland and 20% peaty Islay single malts. Alas, after 3 years, we were suddenly no longer able to obtain one of the key whiskies required for the recipe so, sadly, we retired Eleuthera in 2004. Quietly, I have always been looking for whiskies that we could use to bring it back, even if temporarily, but not with any luck. Until now.

Availability
A limited edition of 12018 bottles.
Bottled in August 2014.
Flavour Descriptors
An elegantly complex union of two fruity Highland single malts and a peaty Islay single malt. An ethereal fruit and herbal character and a sweetness on the palate is buttressed by an underlying smokiness.
Distillery Sourcing
Single malt whisky (of a certain age) from the Clynelish distillery, and a small cache of extraordinary whisky from the Allt-A-Bhainne distillery, aged in American oak barrels and just a few years shy of two decades old, combined with malt whisky from the
Caol Ila distillery.
The Labels
We’ve created three different front label designs all around the same theme: lost items. The whisky behind each label is the same, and the three labels have been randomly bottled and put into cases, which allows you an additional discovery to the whisky itself: which label did I get?

Dalmore

In 1839, Alexander Matheson searched for the perfect distillery location, but his criteria were not the same as others. Some had already chosen to build their distilleries in the Speyside valley, due to its established transport links and more hospitable climate. But Matheson was not swayed by creature comforts. His only concern was where he could find the best natural resources to make the finest whisky. So he settled on an isolated area on the banks of the Cromarty Firth, laid bare to the harsh winds of the North Sea. On this wild land Matheson started from scratch, building everything from warehouses to railways. Matheson forged his own path and by doing so ensured The Dalmore would always have its own unique character and taste.

12  The Dalmore 12 year old, with its intricate aromas and flavours, is recognised as a whisky with character far beyond its age. This was Andrew Mackenzie’s original masterpiece and stood apart from the norm of the day. At a time when it was standard practise to mature whisky for no more than 6 years, Andrew Mackenzie demonstrated his pioneering character by doubling the maturation period. His boldness truly paid off, The Dalmore 12 year old still stands apart as an exceptional whisky today, as it did then.

Matured for an initial nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the spirit is then divided for its final flourish. One half remains in the bourbon barrels, while the other is transferred to exclusive 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts before they are reunited to create this phenomenal whisky.

FLAVOUR PORTRAIT

AROMA
Citrus fruits, chocolate and aromatic spices.
PALATE
Citrus, oloroso sherry, vanilla pod.
FINISH
Roasted coffee and chocolate.

15  The Dalmore 15 year old is smooth, rich and well rounded; the epitome of The Dalmore house style.
This delicate and approachable vintage is initially matured for 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. The character of The Dalmore 15 is achieved by then splitting the whisky equally between three different sherry woods; Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso for a further three years. The spirit is finally married together in an upstanding sherry butt, allowing the flavours to infuse.

AROMA
Orange marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg.
PALATE
Mandarin, vanilla, ginger.
FINISH
Christmas spice and oak.

Cigar Malt Reserve    This specially crafted whisky has been expertly made to be the perfect accompaniment to the finest of cigars.

Matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, it is then finessed in premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques.

Cinnamon, vanilla and red fruits.

Glenfarclas

“My great-great grandfather, John Grant, born in 1805, purchased Glenfarclas Distillery for £511.19s.0d on the 8th of June 1865. To this day, Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled and matured at our family owned and run distillery, which thanks to the foresight of my forefathers remains independent. Creating a great malt whisky is a time-honoured process. Here in the heart of Speyside, my family has cherished the skills and traditions of fine malt whisky making, handing them down through six generations. We are proud to share our secrets with you”.

John L. S. Grant

Machir Bay

Established in 2005, Kilchoman (pronounced Kil-ho-man) is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. Based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on the island for 125 years.
Kilchoman displays all that is great about the grass-roots traditions of Scotch whisky distilling. As well as being one of only a handful of distilleries still practicing floor malting, barley is also grown on the farm, making Kilchoman the only distillery to complete all parts of the whisky making process on site. Kilchoman truly is Islay’s farm distillery – from barley to bottling.

The Machir Bay range is our core expression, first launched in 2012 when it won the prestigious IWSC 2012 Gold Award – Best in Class. Machir Bay is a picturesque sandy beach overlooked by the Kilchoman Church just half a mile from the distillery.  Unlike most Kilchoman releases Machir Bay is matured in both Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks affording it a beautiful balance of rich tropical fruit, peat smoke, light vanilla and intense sweetness.

Monkey Shoulder

Some say it tastes just like riding bareback on the wild moors of Scotland with a flame haired maiden on Christmas morning. Others agree it tastes like 007 wearing a tuxedo wetsuit. If you haven’t tried either yet but want a handy little cheat sheet to check out, here you go – but remember it’s completely up to you, what you think it tastes like.

Nose: Zesty Orange meets mellow vanilla, honey and spiced oak

Taste: Mellow vanilla with spicy hints

Finish: Super smooth

Whatever you make of Monkey shoulder, it’s amazing on the rocks or bartender to make one of the Monkey Shoulder mixes we have there, or get them to rustle up something they’ve invented. Have a crack at some of them too, as we’ve made sure you don’t have to be a bartender guru to knock these up.

Rock Oyster

Paying homage the sea, Douglas Laing’s Rock Oyster is a Small Batch bottling created using the finest maritime Malts including those distilled on the rightly esteemed Islands of Jura, Islay, Arran and Orkney.

Prise open a rock oyster and you’ll be lucky indeed to find a pearl. The real treasure though is the hidden, tasty delicacy inside, rich with the flavours of the sea. Bottled at 46.8% alcohol strength and traditionally without colouring or chill-filtration, this Small Batch bottling has a truly maritime and oceanic character of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper.

Douglas Laing’s Rock Oyster is massively maritime in style and like its namesake carries a hidden delicacy inside. Anticipate wave soaked rocks and a salty oceanic, fresh influence on the nose with a more subtle palate carrying soft and rather sweet peat paralleled with smoke, honey, damp ash, liquorice and late pepper. All that is neatly replicated on the long, more-ish finish.

Scallywag

Inspired by the long line of Douglas Laing family Fox Terriers, which are renowned for being sweet yet rather mischievous dogs, it was felt the Scallywag name and Fox Terrier design was most fitting for this richly spiced and deliciously sweet Speyside Vatted Malt.
Binks Laing – the inspiration behind Scallywag

Scallywag is a Small Batch bottling created using only the finest Speyside Malts including – amongst others – Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes.

Bottled at 46% alcohol strength and non chill-filtered, this Small Batch bottling has a distinct rich, dark colour – extracted from the many fine Spanish Sherry Butts used during maturation. The result is a truly charming Malt with a richly spiced character fused with vanilla (from the bourbon casks used), sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding, dark chocolate, zesty orange and sweet tobacco.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Rich and dark

Nose: Richly spiced woven into delicious vanilla
Palate: Layer on layer of sweet stewed fruit, Christmas pudding & dark chocolate fused with spice (nutmeg and cinnamon)
Finish: A burst of zesty orange with sweet tobacco, cocoa & rich fruit cake

Smokin’

Whisky as it used to be!
Blended in small batches, Duncan Taylor has created a modern Blended Whisky using peaty malts from throughout Scotland, and paying homage to the legendary old, heavy smoky blends of yesteryear. Smokin’ – The Gentleman’s Dram contains smoky whiskies from distilleries throughout Scotland, no-longer bound by regional denitions. The Master Blender has perfectly balanced the robust peat smoke flavours now being produced by mainland Scottish Distillers and complimented them with the smooth notes of toee and vanilla produced by pairing grain whisky and fresh bourbon casks.
Smokin’ – The Gentleman’s Dram is renowned for its rich flavour and un-compromising character, a full bodied experience to be savoured.

Stronachie

A.D. Rattray is proud to revive the Stronachie name and reproduce this spirit of another time. To replicate the whisky, a bottle of original Stronachie 1904 was purchased at auction – one of only four bottles left in existence. A small sample of whisky was drawn from this bottle and tasted. Then samples of many Highland malt whiskies were compared to the original Stronachie. Finally, the remote and high altitude Benrinnes was chosen. This first class malt emulates the flavours and profile of the original Stronachie whisky.

Tamdhu

Tamdhu lived on through the ups and downs of the 20th Century on the banks of the River Spey, until it was closed in 2010.
Inspired by the founders’ vision, the distillery was then purchased in 2011 by Ian Macleod Distillers – a family company independent in thought and ownership.
Re-commissioned in 2012, the new owners set out to return this eminent malt to its former glory.

10

In 1897, Tamdhu Distillery was born of its founders’ Can-Dhu spirit, and 200 years of Scottish industry. Today, Tamdhu 10 Year Old embodies the same intrepid approach. Matured exclusively in sherry oak casks, we ensure every drop is as magnificent now as it was then.

Nose The softness of vanilla and sugared almonds, balanced by fresh oak and cinnamon.

Palate Bursting with fruit and spice – gently yielding to toffee and the richness of sherry oak.
